Hiking to Glacier Point in Yosemite is harder than you can imagine, but the view from the top is worth all the effort! Incredible views of Half Dome, El Capitan and the whole Yosemite Valley. Consider that the whole trail back and forth requires 7/8 hours.

Not easy for a non hiker.  4.8miles to the top.  3200ft vertical change…6’2 250lbs 90f Sunny August day. 4hrs up, 2.5hrs down.  My advice.  Bug spray for the bittom third of the trail. Coming down in the afternoon. Its full sun and like walking on a beach at some points.  I would suggest starting at 6-7am to go up so you are back down by 12-1pm.  4 litres if water. Take a few snacks to keep your energy up.  No toilets while the road is under construction in 2022-2023.

Looking for the popular spot in Yosemite where you can take this picture? Drive up to Glacier point parking lot and leave your car or campervan there. It’s literally 5 min walk from there up to this spot. The parking is big enough so don’t panic for the rush hour. This area has a store, public bathrooms and plenty of spots for other amazing views of The Valley and right in front of you it’s half dome, majestic and always surrounded by great light. Totally recommended. Park your car and walk up this point

This was a very quick and easy outlook point with a breathtaking view. You can see most of the peaks across the valley from this point and it's more of an uphill walk than a hike. Absolutely amazing time

Glacier Point Trailhead

What a wonderful spot in Yosemite! While driving on the Tioga Road, stop here for a swim in the glacial waters of the lake and a pic-nic on the shore.

Beautiful alpine lake for picnicking, swimming, and just enjoying a fantastic view. Well worth the drive. The water is perfect for summer swimming.

There are three separate parking areas, and people are coming and going all the time, so go on to the next one if the one you're at is full. Restrooms are pretty gross, unfortunately.

Such a gorgeous lake. Wonderful to be there and see the beauty of nature. Easy to access too. You’re allowed to swim in it. The parking is by the gravel near the entrance area. The parking spots by the shore are for campers. They’ll ask you to move your car if you park in the parking spots that are numbered. The worker there was nice though. We enjoyed the lake but it was really cold!

One of the most beautiful lakes inside the Yosemite National park. It can be accessed by traveling along Tioga road which is open only for a few months in a year from late summer to mid-fall. It’s surrounded by characteristic granite mountains of Yosemite. There are lots of beach sections which provide access to the lake. The water was at perfect temperature to dip our feet.

If you want to taste the typical american breakfast...stop here! Delicious pancakes, oatmeal and french toast...and the locals eat there too!

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - Happy Burger was cooked well and delicious. The sharpness from the raw onions offset the savoriness of the meat and cheese. The Mushroom Burger was great as well but got a bit queasy with all the cheese and mayo. They gave a huge serving of fries with both burgers but they were a bit dry and lacked flavor

Ambience: 4/5 - loved the decoration as its covered wall through ceiling in vinyl record covers. It's feels like a very homey restaurant but it does feel a bit older and not as clean

Service: 5/5 - very nice and friendly

Value for price: 5/5 - lots of food for the price. Friendly service, lots of seating, reasonable wait. Nothing super special but a good stop if you need a bite

Stopped here before Yosemite. Great place to stop and eat. They had a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. Which was great! Their food was really good. Definitely worth stopping by. Food came out pretty fast for the amount of people that were in there. There’s a lot of seating; Inside, outside, front and out back. They do have games for the kids to play with. It’s a cute little outdoor area for the kids to run around.

It’s a diner so I didn’t expect anything too fancy! We walked in, the area by the front is small but has several booths. You order at the front then sit down where they will serve you the food. My friend got the big breakfast with the ham option. She liked it. I got the happy hash which I did enjoy. Some basic breakfast but good! Filled us up before hiking in Yosemite park

$20 for breakfast and a drink for each of us, little pricey for what you get. There was also a ton of large flies inside the restaurant which was a turn off.

Driving on the beautiful mountain route from Fresno to Sequoia National Park, you can literally see trees getting bigger and bigger on the way!

This stop is definitely one of my favourite. Driving in the desert is at the same time exciting and scarying. It really feels to be in the wild heart of America!

Coming from the peaceful silence of the desert, Vegas can be overwhelming. Still, it can't be missed because...what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Heading up north from Las Vegas, we enjoyed the mountains' fresh air and the incredible variety of sandstones, cliffs and "hoodos" of the terrific NPs of Bryce Canyon and Zion.

This part of Arizona is not only Grand Canyon! Enjoy the historic Route 66...if you can find it!

San Francisco is the perfect closure to this amazing trip. Even in summer the air is fresh and wandering around is pleasant after all those car journeys.

And in the end...Frisco!

There's not much to do in Mariposa, but it's one hour drive from the magnificent Yosemite Valley and it's the closest town to the park's entrance El Portal.

This is truly the treep of a lifetime. In just 2 weeks you can admire an incredible variety of natural wonders that make the most beautiful Hollywood pictures just a pale imitation. I don't think there's a more beautiful and varied itinerary than this!
