From our experience, Cerca Velha is a pretty nice place to stop by and grab something small to eat and drink. Overall, the food was good but a little inconsistent. The Bifana was definitely the best dish. The staff wasn’t too customer oriented, and the fact that they only take cash and, that you must pay when your order didn’t favor the service. Anyway, the outdoor seating is picturesque and the ambiance is very pleasant.

Lovely atmosphere and a calm place to sit down have a drink and a snack. It is located in the oldtown of Porto but a bit away from the main tourist area. Coffee, small beer, two fish crocket and a close to perfect sandwich 10 EUR in total! Order and pay inside and they do accept cash only!

We walked in here to look at the history and it's amazing. How this train station is so old and still in operation is a modern miracle and a testament to the quality of workmanship of Portuguese men and women. The whole place is absolutely beautiful. It's like walking into a museum. I don't know what it's like to take a train from here, but I think it would be worth trying.

With the pink metro line under construction, there is a big hole in front of the station. You can still access it from the North side via a metal walkway. Alternatively you can access the station from the South via the Time Out Market which occupys the old southern wing of Sao Bento station. Did you know São Bento railway station is a UNESCO World Heritage site?

Porto São Bento Station is a masterpiece of architecture and history. The stunning azulejo tile panels depict Portugal’s rich past, making it more than just a train station—it’s a cultural landmark. Whether you’re catching a train or simply admiring the artistry, it’s a must-visit in Porto.

Our favourite place in Porto! We went to this market twice, during our visit.

Fresh seafood, oysters and great quality wine for 2€ (glass). But you can get anything you want, from juices, coffee & pastries to traditional sardines, honey and flowers.

Great atmoshpere and generous amount of available tables regradless of busy hours.

Pretty chill to walk around and eat a bit of this, but if that, a little more of this!
You’ll find the majority of things to snack on down the outer sides of the area, but exploring everything is quite worth it as well.

They do also have toilets upstairs - you can access it easily from the middle of space.

We visited this market a couple of times during our stay in Porto and had a great time exploring all it had to offer. There’s an impressive variety of vendors, selling everything from sandwiches, coffee, and pastries to specialty goods.

We picked up espressos, fresh fruit, cheese, and dried fruit stuffed with nuts, and everything was delicious. Prices are a bit on the higher side, as you’d expect from a newer market, but the experience was well worth it. A fun spot to browse, snack, and soak in the lively atmosphere.

Bellissimo fare la passeggiata da Porto a Vila Nova. Top stare poi sul lungofiume a risposarsi, prendere un po' di sole e chiacchierare con la vista di Porto.

Clean and luxurious ambiance.
The food and drinks were refreshing.
We were welcomed with a tasty cocktail and checked-in in a timely fashion.
I would definitely recommend this hotel in Porto.

Lovely place. But walking and cycling is a challenge. It is not a plane terrain. It is slop everywhere. I could not find even 10 meters flat earth.

Vila Nova de Gaia

Probably the best and busiest Prego restaurant in Porto. The place can be really busy and be prepared to wait during rush hours. The prego is juicy and of a good quality. The service was fast and the portion was big. Many people suggested us "the best chocolate cake in the world" but we did not try it.

This is a fantastic place to eat, with the "Prego no Prato" being a must-try. The dish is full of flavor and really satisfying. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and welcoming, giving it a unique charm that makes dining here a pleasure.

One suggestion for improvement would be to replace the frosted glass in the restroom, as it still allows silhouettes to be seen from outside. Aside from that, everything else was quite good, making it a spot worth visiting.

Very good local dinner spot! Especially loved and recommend the gambas. The skirt steak sandwich was also very good, especially for the price-quality ratio. They are most famous fot the bolo de chocolate which was interesting but not my favorite. Did not like the beer with cranberry juice. Service was a bit slow but ok!

Stupendo! È obbligatoria la visita guidata di mezz'ora e costa circa €14. Siccome non c'è molto altro da visitare a pagamento a Porto, secondo me vale la pena.

Beautiful building; well worth the visit.
Best to check at the venue for tour availability (times, language and percentage booked on each tour) at the Palacio as the website wasn't great. Definitely worth buying tickets in advance.
Expect to see the same staff member popping up around the place as they most definitely "multi-task"!
The final room is stunning.

Worth every penny just for the Arabic room itself... A fantastic place to visit, especially on a rainy day. Our tour guide was kind and knowledgeable, and every corner of the place was nice to explore. Definitely an interesting experience to have while in Porto. 5/5 would recommend

Amazing and breathtaking architecture, best 14 euros invested. The visit is available in French, English, Portuguese and Spanish, only guided visits, very interesting history facts. If you book online you need to be at the Palacio da Bolsa to choose with schedule for your guided visit (depends on the language you choose). 1 visit (booked from the official website) = 30 mins. Nice artist marketplace nearby to pass time while waiting for your visit.

The pastel da nata was warm and fresh every time I got it! It was flaky and buttery, also the space inside fabrics da nata was big so was easy to find a place to sit!

One of the places I’ve saved on my list and it did not disappoint. The custard want an overly sweet but still sweet tho the crust were thin and flaky. Staff was rlly nice I brought my mom with me but only bought one and they gave me another Pastel de nata for free thank you so muxhhhjh ❤️❤️❤️

• Food: You can't go wrong getting pastel de nata in this place. Crust were well baked and flaky and the filling I find to be a bit more than other shops. They also sell sandwiches and drinks.
• Service: Staff were all friendly.
• Ambiance: Good seating inside the restaurant. Best seats are upstairs by the balcony overlooking Santa Catarina.
• Value: Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. About 5 Euros for 2 Pasteles and a drink.

Fabrica de Nata creates delectable treats, allowing you to enjoy them in a great location. Highly recommended spot.

Porto is a beautiful place! Would love to come back.  It is famous for the ceramic tiles on the facades, the so-called azulejos, those are visible all over the city.

The Church of Santo Ildefonso is located in Praça da Batalha, the center of the city of Porto, Portugal. When the Church was first built was unknown, but it was documented at least before 1296.  Because original chapel was damaged by storm and other natural causes, it was rebuilt in 1730 and went through a few renovations and major repairs, although chapel’s architect name is also unknown for 1730 rebuilt.

The church is Baroque architecture and is famous for its double bell towers.

The church only has limited time access for the public, because it has been considered by Portuguese government as a Property of Public Interest.

Church of Saint Ildefonso

The Chapel of Santa Catarina, aka, the Chapel of Souls, with full Portuguese name- Capela das Almas de Santa Catarina, is located at Catarina Avenue or Catarina downtown shopping center, Porto. The church or the chapel is famous for its blue azulejo tiles on exterior side walls.

Most tourists, especially female tourists, like to take photos in front of this side wall. Naturally, it is NOT a surprise when taking photos many strangers become your photo models too, especially the side wall is facing busy traffic avenue.

The chapel started construction at the middle or end of the 18th century and completed its construction in 1901 when it also went through a few restorations and expansion. The chapel is open for the services in early AM and late afternoon, when the chapel door is open to the public access free.

The chapel’s exterior walls or facades consists of 15,947 azulejo tiles that cover about 360 square meters of wall. Based on the official Porto Tour Board’s explanation, these tiles were designed by Eduardo Leite and were made by the Fábrica de Cerâmica Viúva Lamego, in Lisbon. They represent the lives of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Catherine, notably his death and her martyrdom.

Because, nearby, there are indoor shopping center, ViaCatarina [which has large food courts], and outdoor Pedestrian-only Catarina Shopping Districts. the Chapel of Santa Catarine is a popular site for the young and old, couples or families or lovers.

Beautiful church inside and out!! With it having over 1500 tile pieces!! It is free to see the inside!! Plus there is a little shop inside in case y’all want to take some souvenirs!!

Came across this outstanding chapel by chance. You can't help but notice the azulejo (blue and white tiles) on the outside of the Capela. The mosaics on the front and sides depict scenes from the life of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Catherine of Alexandria.

This is neoclassical architecture and it's not at all ordinary. The building originated from the 18th century, but the ceramic tiles were added on in 1929. It's decorated on the inside too. So don't just look at the outside.

Free to enter and visit this chapel. Definitely worth a visit, if you're in the area!

This is a ‘must’ for your ‘to do’ list in Porto. So peaceful and inspiring. Be mindful if you want to climb to the top of the tower (it is worth it for the views) the stairway steps are very steep and it’s a long way up. The photos do not do any justice to seeing the real thing in person. You will be very impressed by the self guided tour. 🙏

It only costs €3 so well worth a visit.
Kids under 10 are free.
It's huge! It was our last item before we had to head out to the airport so we did everything hurriedly! Please take your time by giving yourself time.
We went to the tower. It's a lot of steep steps! View was amazing though. But be prepared to sweat. We had mild weather, can't imagine proper summer. I think if you have little legs (toddlers etc) or old legs ( grandparents) this would be a proper challenge so keep this in mind.
It's a beautiful church and I would highly recommend both inside and out.

A cute little place for an aperitivo. Found by chance and a great find. We sat outside in the sun and had bread, butter, and anchovies. Delicious.

Bolhão Market

The walk from Porto to Vila Nova is beautiful. It's great to relax on the riverside afterward, soak up the sun, and chat while admiring the view of Porto.

Amazing! The half-hour guided tour is mandatory and costs about €14. Since there's not much else to see for a fee in Porto, I think it's worth it.

The best pastel de nata I've ever tasted! A must-have for breakfast or a snack.

Cream Factory

The property is clean, comfortable, well-connected, and quiet. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but overall we had a good time.

3 days in Porto. Two or three days is the perfect amount of time to spend in this city. There's not much to see, but it's nice to wander and get lost in the city streets.
