Prepare yourself to get the best city view by walking 1.8 km to get to the top. Easy trekking route with a lot of beautiful landscapes. Take your camera and enjoy the walk.
Also have a hat with you if you want to prevent sunburns.

Less than an hour on foot one way from the Tibetan bridge. The views from the top are amazing at sunset! This was the highlight of my trip to Matera.

Wonderful view, of course go there at the golden hour.

Delicious food and good service. We loved everything - from the antipasti, to the main meals and the dessert. We were seated in the backstreet alley and the atmosphere was cozy and romantic.

We loved this little restaurant. It has a cosy and authentic feel. The menu is interesting featuring local dishes. We had the cheese and meats to start and were delighted with it; it featured a couple of really yummy local cheeses. The meats were a great complement to the cheese. The real highlight for us was the veal cheek. Oh my, it was DELICIOUS!! The sausage ravioli was also very good. The local chocolate and ricotta dessert was so good we wished we hadn’t decided to share one! Lastly, we ordered a local rose which we also loved. It had really good depth with a dry finish. Yum!
The staff were also lovely and friendly and the manager made a real effort to ensure we had a great experience and explained the origin and techniques of the local food. So glad we found this place - it was one of the few open on a Monday night. A thoroughly enjoyable experience - thanks so much!!

We didn't have a booking but luckily got a table in this small restaurant. Great, really tasty and local food. The service was great and really friendly. Would definitely come back again.

Wonderful and charming place. We visited as part of the tour that helped to learn about the area and skip queue when entering old house dwellings and one of the stone churches. Place got really busy around lunchtime, so perhaps better to plan to visit early in the morning. Toilet facilities are not free, so make sure to have some euro coins.

Beautiful place, unique in the world. It looks going back in time. The architecture and the atmosphere of the place makes everything magic. You can find a lot of bed and breakfast where staying, but be ready to walk with the luggages. The town itself is small but nice. A guided tour is suggested to reach the best angles and to know where the movie sets have been placed. It could be also very romantic, if you come with the right person of course. You need the car or an organized tour to reach the place, but once you are here it is not needed. Highly recommended

Great place to visit. Lots of stairs🪨 make sure you have water and proper shoes. The stairs are slippery. Running or Hiking shoes 👟with a good grip are recommended. Enjoy the restaurant on the way back up.🇮🇹☕🍹
