Typical restaurant. Wide selection, good goulash (though not my style).

If you want to avoid tourist traps in the most touristic areas of Prague and try the authentic Czech cuisine, this is the right place. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of a baroque palace in the Nerudova Street with vaulted ceilings and they have some places outside, too. The deer leg steak, the roasted duck with dumplings, the rolled pork flank and the goulash with potato pancakes are amazing. They also have a good choice of vegetarian dishes.
It’s best to reserve a table in advance as it’s en route to Prague Castle from the Charles Bridge and prices are reasonable so it’s often very busy. The food here was good but we ordered some dishes that unfortunately we didn’t like. This was our fault and the staff were really nice about it and came to see if there was anything they could do. The mains we had were really good and mulled wine was fantastic. Normally it’s too sweet but they let you pour your own sugar. The caramel medovnik cake was amazing but apple struddle was pretty bad. Overall it was a nice meal and friendly staff.
