The memorial was quite disappointing. Very few exhibits and very boring history lessons. Instead of explaining what you see, the audio guide describes historical events, which you can find in any history book. The only thing that's worth seeing, in my opinion, is the 2WW bunker located in the basement.

Very good Museum with lots of interesting items. If you want to cover everything then you will need a lot of time. The audio visual presentations are awesome.

Amazing.  Plan no less than 2 hours, can easily spend a half day.

Really big museum. With so much information and stories about the world ware II. It is really impressive. I highly recommend this place to visit when comming to Caen.

There are five D-Day beaches: from west to east, Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword beaches, while other key battle sites include Pointe du Hoc, Arromanches, and Pegasus Bridge.

Omaha Beach

The Bayeux tapestry tells the story of the conquest of England by William the Conqueror in a sort of comic strip. The tapestry is splendid, very well preserved but the audio-guide marking the times of the visit makes it way too long. 

Cool bit of history, and cool story. Audioguide is good and funny. Exhibition is also a nice extra stop.

Great museum! Simple but very interesting! First i thought it would be not very interesting but it cought my attention quickly!

A small room displays this ancient and fascinating artwork. It can be a bit crowded so be prepared to be calm and take your time taking in the beautiful detail of this bloody affair.

Musée de la Tapisserie de Bayeux

The visit at the American Cemetery is an intense and moving experience. This World War II cemetery, sited high above the Normandy coast,  contains the graves of nearly 9400 war dead, and nearly 1600 names on the Walls of the Missing, most of whom lost their lives in the D-Day landings.

Exceptional in every way.
The grounds are immaculate, the cemetery itself designed in such a way that it invokes calm and space to reflect. The guide we had was wonderful. The museum is easily one of the best I have ever experienced: they do an incredible job of threading the needle between informing you on a macro and logistical level, while simultaneously providing a human perspective, by including the minutiae of individual soldiers lives, experiences, and personal accounts. The combination leaves you truly stunned and allows you to feel the impact of a world war, something  that is at times so abstract. My thanks and compliments to all and everyone whose hard work went into creating this space both past and present. We must never forget.

I've never been there but want to see it to pay my respects to the young men and women who are buried there, people who fell at Normandy and never came back to America!!

Normandy American Cemetery

Quality restaurant in a small street in the historic center of Bayeux. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise, very nice inside, elegant and welcoming, the staff was very kind and friendly. 
The choice is à la carte or among 3 tasting menus, with local products and cheeses. The choice of wines is also excellent.

Excellent food and service. If you have only one night in Bayeux this is the place to go. Make reservations early as it’s small and fills up (we barely got in on a Monday night). Menu is fixed price with a couple options but everything was perfect.

Food. Wine and host first class. Restaurant is very clean and modern. Great prices. Highly recommend. No rush just how we like it. Host speaks perfect English compared to my French

Nice little restaurant with friendly wait staff and a good cider and wine selection.  We wanted a little more from the food, it seemed a bit stuck between trying to be modern/avant-garde and traditional.  It didn't hit high notes in either end.  Still a great location in a very old building and tasty!

La Rapière

Arromanches beach was used by the British army during the Normandy landings to install Mulberry Harbor, an artificial temporary port for the landing of men and vehicles of which the remains are still visible from the cliff overlooking the beach.
