Cos’altro fare o vedere a Bucharest?

Se vai a Bucharest non puoi non provare questo posto! 
Caru' cu bere, "carrello di birra", è uno dei simboli di Bucharest ed è il locale di birra tradizionale più antico della Romania. Si tratta di una locanda in stile neo-gotico con spettacoli dal vivo, in cui vengono coinvolte anche le persone (che lo desiderano, nessuno viene obbligato). Il cibo è veramente buonissimo, vi consiglio di provare il Sarmale regale (involtini di verza con carne macinata) e il Bucovineana (carne di maiale con salsiccie affumicate) il tutto accompagnato dalla loro Mamaliga, polenta buonissima. I prezzi sono un po' più alti rispetto ai ristoranti normali, ma come esperienza di una sera lo consiglio. Il locale è molto bello e si respira un'atmosfera tradizionale. 
Vi suggerisco di prenotare con molto anticipo perchè i posti si esauriscono facilmente. Andate sul sito che ho lasciato e fate tutto online!

Stunning restaurant in a historic building from 1879. The interiors are so impressive. The food is lovely, we had two delicious traditional soups, one served in bread. Service was good. The place was super busy, it's a good idea to book in advance!

Loved the place! Very empty early evening but late evening saw an Romanian performance which was pretty good! Ordered an grilled platter, food very bland, and chicken and steak was dry and hard to cut, however the waiter was exceptional and the Romanian donuts are worth getting, especially the blueberry one instead of the sour cherry! Waiters were lovely and attentive too! Performance are normally in the evening around 19:30pm, booked our dinner in the main room. The beautiful interiors was amazing! Book way in advance as the booking fill up real quick!! But the noodle soup I ordered was yummy - like an standard tomatoes soup with chuck of noodles and pork with breads to dip in with. Toilets are accessible , literally right by the bar with the stained beautiful glass windows and spiral staircase.

We met up with friends here for lunch yesterday, and truly enjoyed the time here. Beautiful venue and busy atmosphere on a Sunday as expected. We sat in the main room due to our friends mobility as we were unable to be in the balcony area.

The food was well prepared and my veal cutlet schnitzel was delicious. Everything is well priced in good protein as well.

Live music was played which was a great touch.

Caru' cu bere - locanda tradizionale

-	Fabrica club (11:00-01:00 / pub con musica dal vivo e tavoli all'aperto. Costruito sulla base di una vecchia fabbrica, è molto particolare con il suo street style)
-	Carusel Cafe (10:00-20:00 / un bellissimo edificio a 4 piani con libri, quaderni, cancelleria, pupazzetti e tantissimo altro. Si tratta di una libreria con l'ultimo piano adibito a bar. Ci sono tavoli e prese per studiare, mentre si gusta una pasta con caffè!)
-	Acuerela (12:00-22:00 / locale molto particolare dove si può anche mangiare. Decorato con ombrelli e altre stravaganze, vedere per credere!)
-	Gran Café Van Gogh (8:00-23:30, sab e dom fino all'01:00 / meraviglioso locale decorato con quadri di Van Gogh. E' davvero delizioso, i prezzi sono abbastanza alti)
-	Arcade Cafe (10:00-02:00 / bar molto stravagante che fa anche da locale notturno)

Io consiglio sempre di girare per i locali notturni senza fare un tour perchè non c'è bisogno di pagare per capire quali sono i più belli, basta informarsi, ma se qualcuno volesse fare amicizia velocemente o trovare un gruppo, questo è un buon tour che aggrega molte persone insieme. La guida vi consegna un braccialetto e poi vi porta in giro nei pub più frequentati, stando circa un'ora in ogni locale. Sono compresi anche shottini e a volte drink. Essendo in gruppi piuttosto grandi (il nostro era di 60 persone) si fa amicizia facilmente e molte persone vengono da fuori. 

In caso voleste farlo da soli vi consiglio di girare nel centro vecchio dove troverete tantissimi locali. Sono tutti molto carini e la musica è bella. 

Vita notturna a Bucharest - Tour dei pub 

Linea | Closer to the moon è un ottimo posto per fare aperitivo. Si gode di un'ottima vista su Bucharest ed è meraviglioso per orario tramonto. D'inverno mettono delle bolle dentro cui ci si può sedere godendo del panorama fuori, sono molto suggestive. Noi purtroppo non siamo riusciti a fare questa esperienza perchè era ancora troppo caldo. 
I prezzi sono molto più alti rispetto agli altri ristoranti, uno spritz più di 8 euro, però vale la pena farci un salto, anche solo per gustare un drink. 
Consiglio di prenotare con anticipo sul sito che ho lasciato, si fa tutto online. 

Thili, our server, was exceptional. He was so attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and the cocktails are great. Everything is reasonably priced and the view from the rooftop is incredible. Linear | Closer to the Moon is hands down the best rooftop bar I’ve been too (definitely go for sunset) and I ate the best food I had in Romania here! I couldn’t recommend it more

Great rooftop terrace located right in the center of Bucharest! The entrance might seem a bit uninviting and sketchy at first, but that changes the moment you reach the top floor. You’re welcomed by a spacious terrace with stunning views of the city. The cocktails were fantastic, and the sunset view was absolutely breathtaking—a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the city from above. A must when visiting Bucharest!

We went for sunset drinks, without a reservation. Staff at reception were great and got us a table no problem. Given the beautiful view the drinks were very fairly priced - a little more expensive than in town but only a little. Service was quick. Nice music with a live DJ. Can't comment on the food as didn't eat there but highly recommended for a drink.

Il tour sarebbe dovuto durare 12h, ma a causa di un imprevisto siamo rientrati verso le 23:00. Nel complesso è stato un bel tour, la Transilvania è molto affascinante e i castelli sono molto interessanti. Purtroppo, essendo un tragitto piuttosto lungo, è stato spiegato tutto con molta fretta e non ci siamo goduti molto i castelli. 
Il castello di Peles è veramente bello, mentre da quello di Dracula mi aspettavo molto di più. Se avete abbastanza giorni vi consiglio di farlo, anche perchè vedrete zone diverse da quella di Bucharest. Il paesaggio rumeno cambia molto in base a dove ci si trova. 
Anche il centro di Brasov merita, pur essendo piccolino. 


Really nice castle. Everything is super detailed and well made. It carries a lot of history for Romania. I highly recommend as an attraction.

You better get the “tour” of all three floors and then skip the tour and walk by yourself while avoiding other groups. It’s not worth it being cramped with others in small spaces.

First floor is by far the most impressive but still make the effort of going upstairs too. You won’t regret it.

We were a group of nearly 30 people visiting here on a Sunday. It was very busy and there were long waits before we were able to enter the castle. Once inside, we were impressed with the fantastic carved wooden walls and all the decorations in the various rooms. The reception hall just above the first staircase was perhaps the most impressive, but there was much to admire in other rooms as well. Much of the exterior was covered in scaffolding as there was a restoration project underway, so we missed the postcard view of the whole castle from the grounds.

Very beautiful castle situated in a nice city. Sadly the castle is currently in renovation which lowers the experience a bit but still I would recommend going in and taking the full tour. Mind that getting a guide means that you will end up stuffed between a ton of people - better go in alone or in very small group. Also - buy tickets in advance.

What else to do or see in Bucharest?

If you go to Bucharest, you can't miss this place!
Caru' cu bere, or "beer cart," is one of Bucharest's symbols and the oldest traditional beer hall in Romania. It's a neo-Gothic-style tavern with live entertainment, where everyone gets involved (if they want to, no one is forced to). The food is truly delicious; I recommend trying the Sarmale regale (cabbage rolls with minced meat) and the Bucovineana (pork with smoked sausages), all accompanied by their Mamaliga, a delicious polenta. The prices are a bit higher than regular restaurants, but I recommend it for a one-night experience. The place is very beautiful and has a traditional atmosphere.
I recommend booking well in advance because they sell out quickly. Go to the website I left and book online!

- Fabrica Club (11:00-1:00 / Pub with live music and outdoor seating. Built on the site of an old factory, it's very unique with its street style)
- Carusel Cafe (10:00-20:00 / A beautiful four-story building with books, notebooks, stationery, stuffed animals, and much more. It's a bookstore with a bar on the top floor. There are tables and power outlets for studying while enjoying a coffee and pastry!)
- Acuerela (12:00-22:00 / A very unique place where you can also eat. Decorated with umbrellas and other extravagances, seeing is believing!)
- Gran Café Van Gogh (8:00-23:30, Sat and Sun until 1:00 / Wonderful place decorated with Van Gogh paintings. It's really delicious, but the prices are quite high)
- Arcade Cafe (10:00-02:00 / Bar very extravagant that also serves as a nightclub)

I always recommend exploring the nightclubs without taking a tour because there's no need to pay to find the best ones; just ask around. However, if you want to make quick friends or find a group, this is a good tour that brings a lot of people together. The guide gives you a bracelet and then takes you around the most popular pubs, spending about an hour at each venue. Shots and sometimes drinks are also included. Since the groups are quite large (ours was 60 people), it's easy to make friends, and many people come from out of town.

If you want to do it alone, I recommend wandering around the old town, where you'll find tons of bars. They're all very nice, and the music is great.

Bucharest Nightlife - Pub Crawl

Linea | Closer to the Moon is a great place for an aperitivo. It offers a fantastic view of Bucharest and is wonderful at sunset. In the winter, they put out bubbles where you can sit and enjoy the view outside; they're very charming. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try this experience because it was still too hot.
The prices are much higher than other restaurants—a spritz costs more than €8—but it's worth a visit, even just for a drink.
I recommend booking in advance on the website I left; everything is done online.

The tour was supposed to last 12 hours, but due to an unexpected event, we returned around 11:00 PM. Overall, it was a nice tour; Transylvania is very fascinating, and the castles are very interesting. Unfortunately, since it was quite a long tour, everything was explained very quickly, and we didn't really enjoy the castles.
Peles Castle is truly beautiful, while I expected much more from Dracula Castle. If you have enough days, I recommend doing it, especially because you'll see different areas than Bucharest. The Romanian landscape changes greatly depending on where you are.
Brasov city center is also worth a visit, despite being small.
